CALHOUN'S CAP WILL HONOR VETS - "Wreaths Across America" Ceremony Saturday In Grantsville, Wreaths Will Be Placed On County Veterans Graves

Calhoun's Civil Air Patrol will have a "Wreaths Across America" ceremony at noon Saturday in front of the Calhoun courthouse.

A significant ceremony will be held at Arlington Cemetery.

The local CAP will honor America's veterans with the posting of the colors, followed by placing wreaths for each branch of service at the Veterans Monument.

Calhoun's CAP will play appropriate music for each of the branches as the wreaths are being placed.

The public is encouraged to attend.

CAP Cadets and seniors will be in uniform and will stand at attention during the ceremony, followed by the playing of Taps. The flags will be retrieved and teams will leave Grantsville to proceed to the cemeteries to lay the wreaths.

Cadets will place the wreaths on veterans' graves following military protocol in Bethlehem, Pleasant Hill, Nobe, Mount Zion, Gibson, and Arnoldsburg cemeteries.

"Wreaths Across America" will be placed in all 50 states, 24 foreign countries and at nine ships at sea at the same time Saturday.

About 250 wreaths were purchased by citizens for placement at Calhoun cemeteries.
