Scottie Wayne Collins, 35 - Newton

Scottie Wayne Collins, 35, of Newton, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 11, 2014, in New Martinsville.

He was born November 7, 1979, in Ripley WV, a son of Mike and Diana Drake Collins of Newton.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Amanda Collins of Newton; stepson, Jace; son, Colton; brother, Brian Collins of Wallback WV; maternal grandmother, Thelma Drake of Wallback; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Scottie was a member of the 1999 graduating class of Roane County High School. He was an employee of J-Wood Pipeline Services, Elkview WV. He was a member of the I.U.O.E., Local 181, Ashland KY; Laborers Union, Local 1353, Charleston WV; and the United Steelworkers Union. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, pipelining and spending time with his family.

Scottie was a good hearted son, husband, father, brother and friend. Scottie was one of a kind, who could make you smile at any time. He will always be remembered and loved by those who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Daniel R. "Danny" Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Collins Family Cemetery at Newton. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
