Brice W. Abbott, Sr., 84, of Walton

Brice W. Abbott, Sr., 84, of Walton, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer, West Virginia.

He was a son of the late Rev. James Early and Nora Short Abbott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Elouise Abbott; a daughter, Ramona Kay Abbott; two brothers, Otto and James "Jupe" Abbott; and seven sisters, Sybil Carte, Erla Patton, Doris Horton, Maxine Hunt, Norma Schoolcraft, Martha "Susie" Parsons, and Madge Ray.

Brice is survived by his sister, Lelia Elmore; his children, Bruce (Terry) Abbott and Brice (Robin) Abbott, all of Texas, Robie (Vicky) Abbott of Gandeeville, West Virginia, Trisha (Don) Casto of Walton, Roberta (Ron) Elder of Ohio, and Trudi (Clarence) White of Mineral Wells, West Virginia; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 1:00pm on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery on Gabe Road near the Roane/Kanawha line. Visiting hours are Friday from 11:00 to 1:00pm at the funeral home.
