TROOPER INJURED CLEANING GUN - WCHS-TV is reporting a West Virginia trooper was wounded when his gun discharged while he was cleaning his weapon Monday.

Lt. Michael Baylous, spokesman for the State Police, said the incident happened at the West Virginia State Police Academy in Institute. He said the trooper was shot in the wrist/hand area.

Baylous said the trooper was transported to the hospital for treatment.

OMAR HOLD-UP - West Virginia State Police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at the Marathon Gas Station in Omar. Investigators say the suspect showed a gun and demanded money.

The suspect got away with cash.

BOONE CO. HOLD-UP STOPPED - Madison Detachment troopers say a man stopped a robbery before it happened at the IGA Store in Costa.

According to a news release issued by WVSP troopers, an unknown male entered the store just before 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, October 26th and attempted to rob the store and the owner.

A friend of the owner pulled a gun on the suspect. He was not able to obtain any money from the IGA Store or the owner.

He ran from the scene. There was no one injured in the incident.
