Lewis A. Lattea, 79 - Glenville

Lewis A. Lattea age 79 of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life on October 16, 2014 at the St. Francis Hospital, Charleston West Virginia, following an extended illness.

Born April 13, 1935 in Gilmer County, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Curt and Ide Clevenger Lattea.

Lewis was a coal miner for 21 1/2 years having retired in 1985. In his younger years he also worked saw mills. Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching WWE Wrestling, and Duck Dynasty. He loved to tinker on anything his tools would fit and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

On September 4, 1954 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Belle Singleton Lattea, who preceded him in death on December 29, 2005.

Surviving are 7 children, Sandra King-Pennington and husband Donald of Charleston, WV; Sally Peggs Glenville, WV; Linda Warner and husband Richard of Jefferson City, TN; John Lattea and wife Connie of Glenville, WV; Robert Lattea and wife Barb of Seminary, MS; Michael Lattea of Glenville, WV; and James Lattea and wife Julie of Cleveland, OH; and 1 sister, Mary Jo Carr of Kisston, North Carolina.

There are 46 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also surviving.

Along with his wife and parents, Lewis was preceded in death by 1 son, Lewis "Bud" Lattea Jr; 3 sisters, Delena Miller, Virgie Luzader, and Marthie Lattea Ables; and 4 brothers, John Lattea, Harold Miller, Clifford Lattea , and Jack Miller.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc; 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 with Pastor Gordon Killion officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery in Glenville. Friends may call from 11-1 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
