WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Man Shoots Wife To Death, Man Ambushes Car, Woman Shot In Head

MAN SHOOTS WIFE IN HEAD - The Mineral County Sheriff's Department says Michael Wayne Myers, 57, called 911 and told dispatchers he had just shot his wife in the head and she was dead.

Police arrived on the scene where Myers was found sitting on the front porch of his home. He was arrested without incident. Deputies located the victim in an upstairs bedroom and identified her as Valarie Kay Myers, 57.

Police said the victim had two separate gunshot wounds to the head. Police indicated the couple had been drinking and began to argue.

Investigators recovered a .45 caliber handgun at the scene. Myers is charged with the first-degree murder.

MAN AMBUSHES, SHOOTS WOMAN IN HEAD - A Mason County man accused of shooting a woman in the head has been arrested.

Police say Gregory Allen Messer, 53, ambushed a man and woman while they were driving near his house.

They say Messer shot at the car several times, and one of those shots hit the woman in the head.

The woman's condition has not been released.

Deputies found a number of guns and ammo on Messer's property.

Messer is facing a number of charges, including attempted murder and malicious wounding.
