Gipsie Maude Burgess, 83 - Spencer

Gipsie Maude Burgess, 83, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Roane General Hospital in Spencer.

She was born March 11, 1931 in Roane County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Roy and Rosalee Nichols. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one sister, Ocie Arlene Hanna of Pink, West Virginia; two sons, Timothy Burgess of White Plains, Maryland and Benjamin Burgess of Laplata, Maryland; and seven daughters, Stephanie Summers of Spencer, Lisa Pannell of Lexington, South Carolina, Angie Boot of Bridgeport, West Virginia, Pamela Shaffer of Fairplain, West Virginia, Karen Burgess of Ripley, West Virginia, Debbie Atkinson of Spencer, and Janet Townsend of Lexington, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin W. Burgess; a daughter, Joyce Perrine; a grandson, Brandon Burgess; two brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, WV with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery, Otto, West Virginia. Visitaion will be Monday from 6:00-8:00 pm.
