STRAY BULLET - A 70-year-old Charleston woman was shot by a stray bullet early Sunday morning while she was sleeping.

Charleston Police responded to the call around 3:30 a.m., finding a woman had been shot by a stray bullet.

Police say at least three stray bullets hit her home and one went through the siding and hit the woman in her lower back. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There's no word yet on a possible motive, but police say the victim was not the target.

ELDERLY WOMAN HELD-UP - The attempted armed robbery of an elderly woman in Sissonville is under investigation.

Police say a man came to an elderly woman's home around 1:30 p.m. Saturday with a gun and demanded money. He then left the scene in a Jeep.

The woman says she recognized the man and thinks he was at her home a few days earlier and asked to use the phone.

PARKERSBURG SHOTS - Parkersburg Police say shots were fired Saturday night at a south Parkersburg home, missing the intended target.

A caller reported that someone kicked-in the front door, entered the home and assaulted the caller's friend with an ash tray.

At some point shots were fired, but no one was hit.

Parkersburg Police say they're looking for three males.
