This summer District meetings of the WVSDAR were held in five locations across the state, including Oceana, Ripley, Martinsburg, Philippi and West Union. Two Elk River Chapter DAR members from our county enjoyed attending some of the district meetings. Lorraine Bailey of Orma and Shirley Ball of Grantsville represented Calhoun County.

The Calhoun women attended the Ripley (Western District) and West Union (Northern District) meetings. In addition, Shirley attended the Philippi (Central District) meeting held on August 9.
