| Mary Elizabeth Shaver, age 92, of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life on Monday, September 1, 2014 at the home of her Caregiver, Reka Verton in Heaters, West Virginia. Born March 11, 1922 in Braxton County, West Virginia, daughter of the late George Adam and Margaret Naomi Watson Cosner. Mrs. Shaver was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family and the Otterbein United Methodist Church. On October 16, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was united in marriage to Ralph J. Shaver, who preceded her in death on September 5, 1999. Surviving are 3 children, Roger Shaver and wife Eileen of Palestine, West Virginia, Sue Cottrill and husband Phillip of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, and Brenda Grogg and husband Toby of Glenville, WV; 3 grandchildren, Jeffery Bonnett and wife Myra of Pennsboro, West Virginia, Amy Grogg Taylor and husband Jody of Napier, West Virginia, and Holly Grogg Shapiro and husband Rob of Morgantown, West Virginia; and 1 great grandson, Andrew Grogg of Morgantown, WV. Also surviving is 1 brother, Fred Cosner of Burnsville, West Virginia; and 1 niece, Patricia Dyer Tedrick of Morgantown, West Virignia, who made her home with Ralph and Mary for several years. Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Thomas Bonnett; 4 brothers, George, John, William, and Alva Cosner; and 4 sisters, Jessie Cosner, Anna Dyer, Viola Thayer, and Ruth Cosner. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 p.m. Thursday September 4, 2014 with Pastor George Chris Cosner officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Fork Cemetery, Sand Fork, West Virginia. Friends may call Thursday from 11-1 p.m. at the mortuary.
