RITCHIE MAN ACCUSED OF BEATING 9-YEAR-OLD BOY

West Virginia State Police have arrested a Ritchie County man who is accused of child abuse. Lewis Matthew Evans, 28, is accused of beating a 9-year-old boy Thursday night. When the child went to school Friday, his teachers noticed bruises to his face, said Cpl. Brewer. The boy also had bruising to his backside and his ear. Evans is charged with child abuse with injury and child neglect with injury. The child is in Child Protective Services custody. Evans is being held in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
