A lot has happened to Mt. Zion resident "Bear" Kerby in the past three or so months. After being stricken with heart failure and taken to the Cleveland Clinic, where he waited for a heart transplant, the day arrived when a donor organ arrived and Bear got a new heart.

Bear came home to Calhoun last night.

His mother became seriously ill the same week, and recently died from complications.

Bear's friends have reported he is grateful for his second chance, and has a good attitude about his life.

Welcome home Bear!
