Dortha V. Shears, 95 of Elizabeth, WV passed away at her residence Saturday August 23, 2014.
She was born in Wirt County the daughter of the late Truman and Delma (Givens) Dotson.
She was a member of the Wirt County Senior Citizens, and the Elizabeth Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Phil (Sandy) Shears of Elizabeth, Larry (Vonda) Shears of Elizabeth, and Leonard (Lee Ann) Shears of Parkersburg WV; 1 daughter, Linda (Darrell) Tallman of Vienna WV; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews.
Preceded in death by both her parents; her husband Frank Shears; 1 grandson, Jeff Shears; 1 sister, Alice Wyatt; and 1 brother, Robert Dotson.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 26, 2014 at the Elizabeth Church of Christ, with the Evangelist Eugene Conger and Evangelist Chuck Gibbs officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery on Rose Hill Road.
