I-79 CRASH CLOSES HIGHWAY - Drugs, Chickens, And "Questionable" Explosive Device Discovered

(08/23/2014)
There was a single-car accident in Roane County at 4 a.m. Friday between the Wallback-Amma exits of 1-79 that closed both the north and southbound lanes for several hours, according to the Roane Co. Sheriffs Department.

A PA driver, Seth Grim, 21 (left) was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, with other charges pending.

When police searched the vehicle, deputies say they also found weapons and what they call a "questionable" improvised item, calling a bomb tech from Williamson to the scene to investigate. That item was taken to a lab.

West Virginia State Police told WCHS-TV it was an "improvised explosive."

Grim was also hauling 35 live chickens and a dog.

Grim was taken to the hospital for treatment and is now lodged in So. Central Regional Jail.
