LITTLE KANAWHA CONSERVATION DISTRICT OFFERS AGRICULTURAL PROGRAM

Parkersburg, West Virginia - An Agricultural Enhancement Program is being offered by the West Virginia Conservation Agency to cooperators within the Little Kanawha Conservation District's (LKCD) five county (Calhoun, Roane, Ritchie, Wirt and Wood) area.

There is financial assistance for lime application, invasive species control, and water development projects such as spring development, pressure system development, and trough replacement.

Landowners must produce or have the ability to produce a minimum of $1000.00 yearly of agricultural products. There is currently a sign-up period that started July 24, 2014 and continues through September 15, 2014. Applications are being accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.

The LKCD also has available, for rent, much of the equipment needed to implement these practices. The LKCD also offers, for sale, some of the components needed for implementing the water development practice.
