Marge Evans welcomes group

The annual Breast Cancer Awareness Ceremony was held last night at the Calhoun Courthouse. Cancer survivors and friends participated in a program, including the reading of a proclamation by County Commissioner Larry McCallister.

October is breast cancer awareness month, proclaiming early detection is the best prevention.

A wreath was hung on the facade of the courthouse, followed by a candlelight ceremony and a prayer by Pastor Mary Zimmer.

Marge Evans, CCEOS Family Committee Chairperson, welcomed the group, which listened to cancer survivor Faye Fitzwater. Peggy Stemple presented cancer facts and information.
