James B. Tidd, 86, of Spencer, passed away on August 2, 2014.

He was born January 4, 1928 in Rock Cave, Upshur County, to the late Oscar and Violet Edith Ann Tidd.

He grew up in Rock Cave, retired from Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg, OH and has spent most of his retirement years in Spencer.

Jim has lived in WV, OH, PA and TX and enjoyed hunting, camping, boating and spending time with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed the view of cows, horses, deer and other wildlife from his front porch on his little piece of WV heaven. He had a love for all cats and dogs and provided love and comfort to as many as he could.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Marie and children, Cathy (George) Zell of Hartville, OH, John Tidd of New Port Richey, FL, Betsy (Ron) Bann of Ravenna, OH, Judy (Mike) Beauchane of Clyo, GA, Debbie (Sonny) Faulkenberg of Branchville, IN, Donna Sarno of Akron, OH, Jimmy Tidd, Barb (Jeff) Hammack, Craig Hicks, Carla Hicks all of Spencer, and Wanda (Tim) Hoke of Sinks Grove; 18 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Jim's brothers and sisters were Bill, George, Pat, Connie, Ruth and Jackie.

We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the service held at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Brother Lowell Gossett officiating. Burial will be in the Tidd Family Cemetery, Spencer.
