Nancy Hupp Moore, 77, of Parkersburg WV

(08/03/2014)
Nancy L. Moore passed away on August 1, 2014 at the age of 77 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after complications from pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis.

Nancy Lee was raised in Ravenswood, WV and Pettyville, WV and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1955.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her four children: Lisa Moore of Raleigh, NC; Dana (Matt) Shimer of Annamoriah, WV; Mitchell Moore of Vernon Hill, VA; and Tyler (Karen) Moore of Alpharetta, GA.

Also surviving are her sister Eva Wilson, sister-in-law Evelyn Hupp, grandchildren Kyle and Sarah Moore, and step-grandchildren Samantha, Patrick and Adrianne Shimer, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, Clifford and Nell Hupp, her brother Donald Bruce Hupp, and her former husband Lew B. Moore. Nancy was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Vienna where she lived for most of her adult life. She retired early from Hope Gas after 25 years of service and began one of her passions, which was travelling.

She was able to venture across the states from one coast to the other, and particularly enjoyed visiting San Francisco and Muir Woods. She got to take to the high seas on a cruise with her sister, and even jetted across the ocean to tour England and Brazil. Her latest trip was to Georgia, where she attended her grandson Kyle's high school graduation which she was quite proud.

She was also an avid sports fan, from major league to minor league, but her favorite was college games. And of course, no one team was more important than the WVU Mountaineers. One of her favorite things to do was to have family around to cheer on the Mounties and discuss the ups & downs that transpired throughout the game.

But Nancy's heart was with her children and family, and the few dear friends she'd made over the years. She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family, enjoying their company, no matter what they were doing. She was considered by all as a fine, generous, loving and kind lady and will be greatly missed.
