Robert Eugene Hargus, 77 - Harmony

Robert Eugene Hargus, 77, of Harmony, West Virginia died Friday, August 1, 2014 at his home after a long battle with Alzheimers.

He was born June 26, 1937 in Fairfield County, Ohio a son of the late Roma and Clara Carpenter Hargus.

He graduated from Lincoln Welding Academy and worked at Eureka Pipeline for over 30 years and retired from Pennzoil Company. After retirement, he pastored at the Mt. Moriah Church. His hobbies included trout fishing, working on his farm and hunting. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Hargus; daughters, Diana Parsons and Patricia Ray; son, William Hargus; grandsons, Eric Ray, Brad Parsons, and Mason and Logan Hargus; granddaughter, Kelly Ray; and great-grandchildren, Josh Almon and Kaidence Ray; sister, Wanda Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Eugene Hargus, Jr.; and a brother, Larry Hargus.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Burnette officiating. Burial will be in the Hunt Cemetery, Harmony. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at ther church. TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia is in charge of arrangements for the Hargus family.
