WEATHER ALERT: TORNADO/FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR REGION SUNDAY

(07/27/2014)
UPDATE - Tornado Watch issued for Calhoun and region at 4:03 PM EDT on July 27, 2014, until 9:00 PM EDT Sinday.

ORIGINAL SUNDAY FORECAST- Clay weatherman Joseph Fitzwater, whose weather site FITZWEATHER went down with a recent lightening strike, says an unusual contortion in the winds, working in tandem with a hot and tropical air mass has this region on watch for severe weather Sunday.

There could be high wind, flooding, and lightning strikes creating localized power hits.

Just where the severest weather will hit is uncertain.

A NWS ALERT Saturday night for Calhoun and regional counties is more moderate, with a Flash Flood Watch remaing in effect through late Sunday night.

The combination of an upper level disturbance and a cold front has the potential to produce very heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Rain accumulations of 2 to 3 inches are possible with the heaviest storms in a short period of time.
