Donald Franklin Weaver, "Coach Weaver", 83, died July 12, 2014, at his home in Virginia Beach, VA.

He was born March 16, 1931 in Calhoun County, WV, a son of the late Frank Weaver and Mabel Rothwell Weaver.

He graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1948, graduated from Glenville State College in West Virginia with a BA in Biological Science and Physical Ed. in 1953. He served in U.S. Army from June 1953-1955.

He graduated from WVU in 1956 with a Master of Science degree in 1956. He taught and coached football at his Alma Mater, Calhoun High from 1962-1968, served as a Biology teacher and football coach at Bayside High from 1970-1985 and then retired from Kellam H.S. after 40 years of teaching and coaching in 1997.

He is a member of Masonic Lodge, Eureka #40 of Grantsville, WV since 1955 and is a member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner with Khedive Temple in Chesapeake, VA and Haygood United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Nocito and husband James; granddaughter, Jessica Wright and husband Anthony; grandsons, Travis Weaver Taylor and James Notcito, II; great grandchildren, Riley Breton and Ava Wright; his sister, Doris Weaver Griffith of South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ruth E. Weaver of Virginia Beach, VA; three brothers, and three sisters.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, in the funeral home chapel.
