Family lost everything in blaze

Fire completely destroyed a home and its contents Tuesday morning. The structure belonged to Larry and Sherry Snider of Walker Creek.

Snider said he and his wife were rendering lard on a stove when a pan of the grease was dropped and it ignited, with the flames rapidly spreading.

"We decided to just get out and and didn't manage to save anything," said Sherry Snider.

Sniders said "With the help of God, we'll start over"

The Upper West Fork VFD and MHHS EMS responded to the scene at 10:21 a.m.

The Snider's said they hope to rebuild on the same site, having lived there for about a decade. "We have wonderful neighbors, and have never wanted to live anywhere else," said Larry Snider.

"With the help of God, we'll start over," said Sherry Snider.

Their son, Michael Snider, responded with the UWVD to fight the blaze.
