RIPLEY HAS OLDEST SMALL-TOWN JULY 4TH CELEBRATION

Ripley is to host the largest small town Independence Day celebration in the U.S.

The annual celebration in Jackson County dates back to the 1800s, and is billed as the oldest parade and celebration of July 4th in the nation.

Events are set to kick off at 10 a.m. on the Jackson County Courthouse lawn, with Hogan's Goat, Matt Fore, the Jeff Ray band and Adam Tucker, among the performers.

Fireworks are scheduled at 10 p.m.
