CALHOUN CIRCUIT COURT HAS TWO BUSY DAYS - Harold Gets Penitentiary Sentence

On Monday, Judge David Nibert held Circuit Court in Grantsville with a large number of cases on the docket.

Prosecutor Shannon Johnson said Larry Dana Harold was sentenced to one to three years in the state penitentiary for attempt to commit burglary, a felony. He was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Pre-trial hearings were held in cases against Patricia Connell, Angel Bowers, John Fisher, Leon Kerby, Scott Morford, Adam Park, Joshawa Whipkey, Matthew Rapp, James Morsey, Jeremy Saunders, Eric Jones. The cases are set for trial on July 15th.

Zachary Thomas's case is set for entry of a plea on July 17. Thomas was charged in 2012 for breaking and entering and receiving/transferring stolen property, among other charges.

David Bailey appeared for a parole violation. Bailey admitted to the violations and the court reinstated his parole.

Georgie Gaglione and Josh Slider's drug-related cases appeared for a pre-trial. Their cases were moved to September 30 for trial.

There were also fourteen juvenile hearings on Monday's docket.

On Tuesday, Judge Thomas Evans held court for several cases.

Prosecutor Johnson said John Cash of Grantsville entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to operate a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, a felony, and intimidation of a public official, a misdemeanor. He will be sentenced on September 22.

Zebediah Hamrick entered a guilty plea to operating a clandestine methamphetamine drug laboratory, a felony. He will be sentenced on September 22.

Three drug-related cases against Richard Conley and cases against Michael Duncan and Krista Farrell were continued to October 21.

Jason Conrad entered into a one year pre-trial diversion with the state for conspiracy to operate a clandestine drug laboratory, a felony.

Timothy Bowe's trial was continued to October 21.

Deanna Nelson's and Andrea Simmons's trials were continued, scheduling trials on July 21.

Matthew Jeffrey did not appear in Circuit Court and the judge issued a bench warrant for his immediate arrest.

Nicholas Davis and Douglas Lynch moved to continue their cases until a later date. They will come to trial on October 21, related to the cultivation of marijuana.

Mark Harris entered a plea of guilty to possession of methamphetamine and entered into a one year pre-trial diversion for possession of precursors to manufacture methamphetamine, a felony. He will be sentenced on September 22.

William Cottrell entered a guilty plea to possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance, a felony. He will be sentenced September 22.

Drug cases Cases against Donald Drake and David Jones were dismissed without prejudice.

Christopher Ferrell entered a plea of guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of possession of hydrocodone. He will be sentenced September 22.

Christina Wilson entered a guilty plea to two counts of exposure of children to the manufacture of methamphetamine, both felonies. She will come on for sentencing on September 22.

Scotty Knight entered a plea of guilty to operating a clandestine methamphetamine drug laboratory, a felony, and possession of precursors to manufacture methamphetamine, a felony. He will be sentenced September 22.

The next Court date is July 15, 2014 with Judge David Nibert presiding.
