WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Shooter Kills Man, Kicks His Head

(07/04/2014)
VIOLENT MURDER - The Kanawha Sheriffs Department says a man involved in a fatal shooting 3:30 a.m. Thursday in Cross Lanes repeatedly kicked the victim in the head as he was dying on the floor.

Police arrested Dustin Bodkins, 29, of Cross Lane, after he shot Timothy Morris, of St. Albans multiple times, hitting him with at least one bullet.

When deputies arrived, they found Morris in a pool of blood on the floor, dead.

They interviewed Lindsey Winans at the residence, who said that she and her fiance, Bodkins, had recently separated.

Winans said she had her friend, Morris, at her house when Bodkins came to the door, asking for acid reflux medicine. While Winans was searching for medicine, Bodkins entered the home, frantically searching through rooms and closets.

Bodkins found Morris hiding inside a closet and the two started to fight, the complaint says.

Bodkins then went to the master bedroom and retrieved a pistol, repeatedly shooting at Morris.

Deputies said Bodkins then pointed the gun at Winans and threatened to kill her and then himself.

Winans after arguing with Bodkins, pushed the woman down into a pool of blood for Morris. The report says that was when Bodkins proceeded to kick Morris in the head.

Bodkins is charged with the murder of Morris and wanton endangerment for threatening to shoot Winans.
