WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Martinsburg Woman Shot To Death In Driveway, Man Attacks Deputy With Butcher Knife

MARTINSBURG MURDER - State Police are looking for the person or persons who shot a Martinsburg woman in the face in her driveway, killing her.

Troopers said Taylor McKenley Hawkridge, 22, was found near her vehicle following reports of shots fired around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

She had been shot once in the face and later died at Winchester Medical Center.

State Police are looking for a vehicle connected to the shooting.

MAN ATTACKS DEPUTY WITH BUTCHER KNIFE - Police have arrested a Boone County man after allegedly attacked a sheriff's deputy with a butcher knife late Saturday.

The man was taken to the hospital for an apparent drug overdose.

Boone County Sheriff's Cpl. Eric Eversole went to the home of Jimmy Dean Jarrell, 46, of Robinson, to investigate complaints that he was disorderly and keeping neighbors awake, according to a criminal complaint.

Jarrell allegedly threw a sledgehammer through the doorway as Cpl. Eversole approached.

When Eversole ordered Jarrell to turn around, he allegedly cursed at the deputy and charged at him with a butcher knife, says the criminal complaint.

Eversole subdued Jarrell with his taser gun, but Jarrell kept fighting and had to be handcuffed by force.

Jarrell is in South Central Regional Jail on $20,000 bond, charged with malicious assault on a police officer, among other charges.

TEEN SHOT - A 16-year-old male was shot in the back early Sunday morning at a large party at Tornado, Kanawha County.

Kanawha deputies say he was taken to the hospital.

It happened about 2 a.m. at a party with a large number of teens, around 60-70 cars may have been parked outside a house.

Kanawha deputies say alcohol was also present and there's evidence of empty alcoholic beverage containers throughout the yard.

Deputies say at least one fight happened, resulting in the shooting. There's no word if the victim was targeted or if there's a motive behind the shooting.

Multiple shots were fired.

Arrests have yet to be made.

ALBRIGHT SHOTS - State Police are investigating a complaint where several shots were fired Saturday night in Albright, Preston County.

They say two people were involved in an altercation, and during the altercation one person brandished a weapon and fired several rounds.

That person fled the scene and the vehicle they were driving in later crashed on Route 26 near Dream Mountain near Albright. The suspect then fled into the woods.

The incident is under investigation
