Alvin Eugene Dye, 79 - Reedy

Alvin Eugene Dye, 79, of Reedy, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Elden and Ruby Freshwater Dye. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elva Kelley, his brother, Sam Dye, and his brother-in-law, Alfred Kelley.

He was retired from Copper Well Steel in Warren, Ohio after working 30 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by Norma George, the love of his life for 30 years; and a very special step-daughter, Robin George of the home; two step-children, Denny (Cheryl) George of Parkersburg, West Virginia and David George of Clarksville, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Joann (Daniel) Emerick of Parkersburg; a very special sister-in-law, Betty Dye of Vienna, West Virginia; and his special caregiver and nephew, John (Marsha) Greathouse of Spencer, West Virginia.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Jeffrey Williamson, pastor of the First Evangelical Methodist Church in Parkersburg, officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery near Reedy. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
