Leonard D. Burrows, 97 - Vienna

Leonard D. Burrows, 97, of Vienna, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Eagle Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Calhoun County, a son to the late Walter and Mary Burrows.

He retired from Monongahela Power Co. in 1979, with 32 years of service. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene, and loved to hunt and fish. Most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Burrows; brother, Hayward Burrows; and sisters, Emogene Davis, Irene Siers, Lorene Wyers and Eveline Frye. He is survived by his daughters, Dortha Gregg (Perry) of Walker, Mary Whitlock (Bud) of Parkersburg, and Beverly Scales (Steve) of Houston, Texas; son, Dexter Burrows (Joyce) of Little Hocking, Ohio; brothers, Amos Burrows of Davisville and Andy Burrows of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; along with many other extended family and friends.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Keith Hostutler officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, June 25, at the funeral home.
