| Bruce Church, 74, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at home.
He was born May 15, 1940 in Roane County, a son of the late John Lee and Lori Starcher Church. He was formerly employed at Monarch Rubber and as a gravedigger. He enjoyed horses, hunting and fishing, walks with his family and going for rides on the "side-by-side". He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the West Virginia National Guard.
Bruce is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Mark Miller of Spencer and Lora and Jeff Welch of Gandeeville, West Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Barb Church and Bryan and Cathy Church, all of Spencer; a sister, Beulah Jett of Akron, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Cory Church, Bruce Welch, and Cassidy Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Fields Church; a grandson, Bradlee Wayne Miller; four sisters, Ethel Bowen, Lucy Brannon and two infants, Sarah and Bethel; and six brothers, Earl, Ed, Roy, Henry, Richard "Buck" and an infant, George.
Services will be at 11:00am on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting will be Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. |
