USDA APPROVES $730,000 GRANT, $70,000 LOAN FOR GRANTSVILLE SEWAGE SYSTEM

State Director Bobby Lewis announced that USDA Rural Development approved a Water and Waste Disposal loan of $70,000 and grant of $730,000 for the Town of Grantsville. The announcement is one part of the Department's efforts to strengthen the rural economy. Rural Development funds will be used to make much needed improvements to the Grantsville's existing wastewater collection and treatment facility. Grantsville is currently under order by the WV Department of Environmental Protection to remedy system inflow and infiltration issues. The repairs are required to ensure that the system is brought back into compliance. The project will benefit the approximately 300 homes and businesses connected to the wastewater system. The additional funds will be used to complete the project.
