WVU Extension Service in Calhoun County will be offering a program in June called 'Cooking Matters at the Store.'

This nationally sponsored program where participants meet at a local grocery store and learn how to save money, buy healthy foods for their families and receive tasty and healthy recipes.

The tour will last approximately 60 minutes and during the tour you will practice skills like buying fruits and veggies on a budget, comparing prices to find bargains, reading and comparing food labels, identifying whole grains and sticking to your budget.

After completing the tour each participant will receive a $10.00 gift card to use in the store to purchase healthy groceries, a book of tasty recipes and a reusable grocery bag.

Grantsville Foodland will partner with the Extension Service, where there will be 3 tours at the store. The first will be on June 17th at 10 a.m. The second will be June 18th at 10 a.m. and the final tour will also be on June 18th at 2 p.m.

Each tour will be limited to 5 participants and you need to call the Extension office at 304-354-6332 to sign up in advance. Once you sign up, you will receive a confirmation in the mail and that will give you details of the meeting place.
