Seventeen-year-old Amanda Boothe won the Novice Division at the annual National Baton Twirling Association's Miss Majorette of WV Pageant held Saturday in Ripley, WV.

The pageant title in the ages 16 years and over category is determined on three criteria: Modeling in baton outfit (20 percent), Basic Strutting in a square to march music (40 percent), and one baton solo Baton twirling (40 percent).

Amanda took first place in all three categories for the win. She also had an interview that was not required, but was good experience for the young contestant.

Amanda received 2nd place at WV State Solo twirling last November, along with numerous other wins. She is the current Majorette Captain at Calhoun High School.

Her parents are Brian and Becky Boothe, she has a brother, Matthew. Her coach is Lorraine Bailey of Orma.
