JETT AND SMITH EARN CHS CLASS OF 2014 VAL-SAL HONORS

Jett and Smith will address fellow graduates at the Calhoun
County High School 90th Commencement Exercises Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Kelsey Elise Jett has been selected Valedictorian of the 2014 Calhoun County High School graduating class. Kelsey is the daughter of Steven and Jenna Jett of Orma, WV. She plans to attend Glenville State College and major in education.

Valedictorian is the student who has earned the highest grades in a graduating class.

Kelsey has been awarded scholarships from the Helen Holt Mollohan $2500 per year; PROMISE $4750 per year; Helen Hunter & Alice Singleton $2400; Cunningham Wilson $500 (renewable for 4 years); Built Ford Tough /Jack Garrett Ford Scholarship $1000; Calhoun Cooperative Parish $500; John C. Shaw $200; Eula Houchin Hall Kerns Memorial $400; Calhoun Banks $1000.

Nicholas Lee Smith has been selected Salutatorian of the 2014 Calhoun County High School graduating class. Nicholas is the son of Randal and Kandas Smith of Millstone, WV. He plans to attend Davis & Elkins College and major in pre-veterinary studies.

Salutatorian is the student who has earned the second highest grades in a graduating class.

Nicholas has been awarded scholarships from Davis & Elkins Merit $64,000; PROMISE $4750 per year; Foodland $1000; Lions Club $500; Calhoun Banks $500.
