GRANTSVILLE WOMAN CHARGED WITH SELLING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PILLS

(05/15/2014)
A Grantsville woman, Mary Ruth Parsons, 53, has been charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, felonies, issued by Grantsville Police Chief Andy Walker.

According to the criminal complaint, an informant made purchases while being wired with an electronic recording device.

The informant, according to the complaint, met Parsons in Grantsville and was sold Norco 7.5 milligrams (Hydrocodone), a controlled substance.

Chief Walker says Parsons waived her Miranda Rights and told him that she had obtained the prescription medication at a pain clinic in Parkersburg.

During the interview, Walker says Parsons admitted to selling 60 pills from a 71 pill prescription at $8 each, the complaint indicating Parsons had also sold pills to a second informant.

Parsons has been released on $80,000 bond.
