The EPA published a proposed rule on the waters of the U.S. on April 21, 2014.

The Farm Bureau says this new rule expands federal government jurisdiction astronomically, with ordinary farming, forestry, home building and many other practices will soon be subject to regulation and permitting as never before.

The Gilmer County Farm Bureau is hosting a meeting to provide information at 6:30 p.m. on May 28 at the Gilmer County Historical Society Library Annex, located at 302 E Main St., Glenville, West Virginia.

Staff from West Virginia Farm Bureau will bring a 30 minute presentation that will explain the basics of the proposed rule and provide handouts.

The Farm Bureau says, "Don't think this will not affect you. This proposed rule will put an unbearable burden on many of our industries and has potential far reaching effects, not only for farmers and contractors but for every homeowner…down to the price of a gallon of milk."
