Virgil Warren Edman, 75 - Tanner

Virgil Warren Edman, 75, of Tanner, WV, passed away suddenly on May 8, 2014 in his sleep at home.

He was born December 21, 1938, a son of the late Virgil E. and Ruby P. Edman.

He graduated from Tanner High School, class of 1957. He retired after many years in the oil fields. He was an avid farmer. He attended Tanner Chapel.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Helen Edman; three children, Richard (Gina) Edman of Tanner, Beth (Rodney) Settle of Elizabeth WV, and Eric Edman of Mooresville NC; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Colton) Anderson, David Smith, Miriam Smith, Luke Smith, Jenny Edman, Stephen (Maggie) Settle and Tara (Jayson) Donley; three great grandchildren, Jacob and Savannah Donley and Archer Settle; a brother, John Edman and his wife Sharon with their children, Tom Edman and Kristen (Tom) Oxley with their children Jared and Morgan; a sister Marilyn Sue (Fred) Montgomery; special friends Kenneth and Gladys Dykstra of Hewitt NJ. He also leaves behind several other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 13, 2014 1:00 pm at the Tanner Chapel with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Roseville Cemetery at Tanner. Friends may call at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville Monday from 4:00-8:00 pm and from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Tanner Chapel prior to the services.
