GASOLINE GOING UP - Crude Jumps To $30.76

(09/26/2002)
Gasoline prices in the greater Parkersburg area took a jump this week, up to 15 cents on the gallon. Crude oil prices went up to $30.76 a barrel.

Oil companies said the price increases are a matter of the demand staying the same and the supply being down.

Some Parkersburg stations saw a jump from $1.31 a gallon to $1.46, as gas prices around the country average about $1.40.

In Calhoun, prices were hovering around $1.45 to $1.49 a gallon for low test.

Last year at this time, the prices were at least 15 cents higher.
