Robert K. "Bob" Matics, 85 - Reedy

Robert K. "Bob" Matics, of Reedy, West Virginia died May 4, 2014 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer, West Virginia.

Bob was born July 28, 1928 in Roane County, a son of the late Alfred and Pearl Starcher Matics. He worked as a truck driver, school bus driver and as a mechanic and also served as a police officer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and was a Methodist.

He is survived by his longtime companion and caregiver, Donna Hall; two daughters and their husbands, Rachel and mike Fisher of Ripley, West Virginia and Milessa and David Bias of Kenna, West Virginia; a granddaughter, Madyson Fisher; two sisters, Rita Terrell of Reedy and Tresa Lea Westfall of Ohio; and three brothers, Don and Kenneth Matics, both of Reedy and Jim Matics of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Alfred "Bill", Jr., and Benny Matics.

Per his request, the body was cremated. There will be a graveside memorial service at 11:00am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Fairview Cemetery near Reedy. TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia is in charge of arrangements for the Matics family. There will be no service or visitation at the funeral home.
