Bernard Gene Riddle, 80 - Walker

Bernard Gene Riddle, 80 of Walker WV, formerly of Laurel MD, passed away April 10, 2014 at Worthington Manor.

He was born October 28, 1933 in Grantsville a son of the late Willie Paul and Hazel Wilmoth Riddle.

Bernard attended Calhoun County Schools and had served in the United States Army from 1955- 1964.

In Laurel, Bernard owned and operated The Riddle Excavating Company. He was an avid Equestrian since childhood and was a licensed trainer for thoroughbred race horses. He loved the outdoors and in earlier years, he liked to go fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Barbara Misenhiemer Riddle of Walker; and his daughter, Pamela Jean Riddle (Samuel "Sam" Meyers) of Vienna; 5 sisters, Louise Riddle Breeden (Tom) of Boyds MD, Lois Riddle Johnson of Walker, Catherine Riddle Hupp of Elizabeth, Pansy Riddle Civitello (Clarence) of Parkersburg and Janet Riddle Johnson (Steve) of Rockport and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Marion Paul Riddle; and a sister, Hope Batson.

His ashes will be interred at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Calhoun County at the convenience of the family.

Kimes Funeral Home of Parkersburg is assisting the family.
