WOMAN ESCAPES BURNING CAR ON LEADING CREEK

A woman driver was lucky to escape her wrecked and burning car Tuesday afternoon, after the vehicle went out of control on Leading Creek Road, struck a tree and went over an embankment, coming to rest in a meadow. Sources at the scene identified the woman as Linda Snider, who manged to extract herself from the burning vehicle and go to a house and call 911. A natural gas line was near the burning vehicle. The woman was taken to a Parkersburg hospital by MHHS EMS for evaluation and treatment. The car was completely burned. The Grantsville VFD responded to the accident, less than one mile off State Rt. 16 at Big Springs.
