A Roane County man has been arrested after leading police on a pursuit.

Richard White, 33, of Gandeeville, was charged with fleeing while DUI, driving with a revoked license, resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer, according to the Roane County Sheriffs Department.

Police had been on the look-out for White because it was reported that he was driving with a revoked license.

When the sheriff's department attempted a traffic stop Wednesday night on White in the area of Harmony Road, he continued to drive, going at a high rate of speed in excess of 80 mph on a 35 mph road.

He was stopped on US 119 after a pursuit of five miles.

White was taken to a hospital due to injuries sustained from resisting arrest, in which he tried to drive away, and officers had to use force, according to the sheriff's department.

White will be incarcerated when he is released from the hospital.
