Ralph Edward Ackley - Samantha Ann Starcher

A Grantsville man and woman are facing felony drug charges, allegedly connected to the manufacturing of meth near Grantsville Manor Apartments.

Ralph Edward Ackley, 50, is in Central Regional Jail, on a conspiracy to commit drug related charge. His bond has been set at $25,000.

Samantha Ann Starcher, 23, has also been charged and released from jail related to the drug incident.

In a criminal complaint filed by Grantsville Police Chief Andy Walker, authorities went to the apartment following a complaint regarding a meth lab and alleging meth use with a child present.

A Child Protective Services worker, according to the complaint, appears to have removed an infant from the dwelling, a child belonging to Ackley and Starcher.

Police allegedly discovered a "shake and bake" meth lab in the woods near the apartment complex, with two other individuals mentioned in the complaint involved in the production.

Chief Walker identified them as Dennis and Cindy (Hart) McCune.

The complaint indicates that Ackley and Starcher admitted to using meth. The complaint says that the McCunes purchased meth-making ingredients at Fruth Pharmacy in Spencer.

According to the complaint, Edward Ackley said he had used meth, snorting it, the previous day, telling the officer it was meth he had obtained from his son Gary Ackley.

In the complaint, Ackley said "I paid $25 for it."

Ackley and Starcher agreed to have a drug test at Minnie Hamilton Health System.

The complaint says Starcher called Cindy (Hart) McCune on the phone, advising her "that they have found Dennis' shit," behind the house.

Chief Walker quoted Starcher saying, "We need to get our shit together," with Cindy (Hart) McCune replying "No doubt."

So far, the McCunes have not been charged.
