WIRT COUNTY HEALTH SERVICES BOOSTED BY $330,000 GRANT

(04/09/2014)
The Wirt County Health Services Association of Elizabeth has received $330,125 to continue operations and improve preventive care.

The grant was announced by Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin, part of $6.2 million issued to five West Virginia Health Services.

"For West Virginians living in rural and underserved areas, community health centers provide important, affordable access to primary and preventive care, which is essential to keeping our entire population healthy," Rockefeller said.

The competitive grants were created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. They provide financial assistance to health centers that offer comprehensive primary and preventive health care services to underserved or rural areas.
