ROANE MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO SEXUALLY ABUSING TEEN DAUGHTERS, IMPREGNATING ONE - Sentenced To 40 Year Prison Sentence |

| UPDATE 10/5/15 - A Roane County man, Tommy Lee Given, 41, of Pigeon, accused of sexually abusing his teenage daughters, impregnating one of them, plead guilty in Roane Co. Circuit Court, and has been sentence to 40 years in prison. Judge Thomas Evans III said Given showed no remorse. According to court records, Given took his impregnated daughter to get an abortion, indicating he had a sexual relationship with her since she was nine. The guilty plea was given before jurors could decide his fate. He turned down plea agreements offered him.
Tommy Lee Given, 41 (left), of Little Pidgeon Road, was arrested in April, 2014 by Lt. Jeff Smith of the Roane Sheriffs Department, on charges of sex abuse by parent (three counts), sexual abuse 2nd degree (3 counts) and incest (3 counts). According to the criminal complaint, Given "raped" his daughter in 2011, after which she was pregnant, the pregnancy was terminated by an abortion. The victim told authorities that Given "had forcibly held her down on her bed with his hand around her throat and forcibly had intercourse with her." Lt. Smith, in the complaint, said the sequence of events related to the pregnancy and abortion had been sustained by the investigation. In the complaint, a sister to the victim said she arrived home from school witnessing Given and the victim in a bedroom engaging in sex. The victim's sister, in a statement to authorities, said another time during the night, she witnessed Given and his daughter engaged in oral sex. The victim, in the criminal complaint, confirmed the incidents witnessed by her sister. The complaint indicated the incidents happened between 2009 and 2011. The victim also told authorities that Given had "physically abused her and had made numerous threats to do physical harm...to keep her from talking about the sexual abuse." Given has been held in Central Regional Jail with bail set at $180,000.00.
