CENTURY ALUMINUM RETIREES STILL WANT THEIR BENEFITS

(04/02/2014)
Century Aluminum retirees in Ravenswood picketed outside of the Jackson County facility this week.

The retirees are among many American workers that have lost their promised benefits.

"We are still out here uninsured and Century still has not stepped up to the plate and we, certainly, have not given up," said Karen Gorrell.

Gorrell's husband worked at the Century Aluminum plant for three decades before it closed in 2009.

The company says health care benefits will only be restored when operations begin again at the plant.

Century's future is still unclear.
