Bernice Mae Moyers , 84 - Cedarville

Bernice Mae Moyers age 84 of Cedarville, West Virginia, departed this life at 9:30 P.M; Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Genesis Health Care Center, Glenville, West Virginia, following an extended illness.

Born August 3, 1929 in Normantown, West Virginia, daughter of the late Charles Victor and Josie Alice Miller Childers.

Bernice was a homemaker and graduate of Normantown High School, Class of 1949. She was a long time member of the Dawson Baptist Church, bookkeeper for Moyers Well Service and a big supporter of her children's school and sports activities. She was a great cook, active mother with her children, caregiver to family when needed, and an important part in the family farm, along with being a good farm wife.

On March 18, 1949 Bernice was united in marriage to Charles J. Moyers who preceded her in death on September 12, 1997.

Surviving are 3 children, Katherine Moyers Hark and husband David of Shepherdstown, WV, Kevin Joseph Moyers and wife Virginia Ann of Cedarville, and Charles Victor Moyers and wife Roberta of Cedarville; and 1 sister Lavonne Minigh and husband Robert of Cedarville.

There are 7 grandchildren, Shaun Moyers of Morgantown, Keith Moyers and wife Nicole of Tanner, Chris Moyers and wife Sarah of Glenville, Douglas Moyers and wife Chasity of Burnsville, Teresa Case and husband JD of Gassaway, Julie Conrad and husband Johnny of Stouts Mills, and Misty Moyers-Chavez and husband Lupe of Canton, Ohio, and 11 great-grandchildren also surviving.

Along with her husband and parents, Bernice was preceded in death by 1 sister, Peggy Reed, and one infant great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Moyers.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Dawson Baptist Church, WV Highway 33 West of Glenville at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 with Elder Richard Westfall officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedarville Cemetery, Cedarville. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M., Monday Evening at the mortuary.
