Rev. Keith Belt who is sporting a "new look" filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

Fayetta Campbell, age 89, widow of former Creston resident Gray Campbell, passed away at a Parkersburg nursing home.

A memorial service was held March 22 for Elizabeth Myers, age 60, who passed away March 12. She was the companion of Russell "Sonny" Stutler and lived at Annamoriah.

The Big Yellow Limo Driver and Mr. Wonderful were out driving around in the Jeep and again came upon a forest fire. Those who know noted that when that pair goes out and about in the Jeep on excursions "things get hot".

Charles Russell was calling on Ray Gumm, Parris Parsons & brother Euell at the Miletree Center in Spencer.

It was reported that the budget for law enforcement, specifically overtime, for the Wirt County sheriff was reduced.

A reporterette from a desert oasis went to a big event down in the swamps of the lower Potomac and learned that the Big Eared One's press conferences, with Bagdad Bob Carney were actually staged, questions having been submitted in advance. She was not supposed to have said that and she was forced to recant. Sorta like when, under penalty of death, Galileo was forced to say that the sun rotated around the earth even though he had proved otherwise.

The Common Core people are now running tee vee ads promoting the federal takeover of education and the dumbing down of children. If they really wanted to improve literacy and promote learning they should use Ray's Arithmetic and McGuffey's Readers -- of course some of the teachers might have problems mastering the lessons. "Big Government" Republicans like Jeb Bush and also marching to Bill Ayers (the domestic terrorist & "educator's") tune. Dictators in past times have said that when "we get control of the children" we control the country.

Speaking of such things, "Is it peace in our time" when Crimea and Ukraine are taken over? For America to do anything the U. S. Space program would have to be restarted but, of course, such would require cuts in the welfare budget.

A local resident is sojourning over in Doddridge County.

The weather got warm, daffodils, crocuses, hairy bittercress and chickweed are all blooming although another snowstorm is predicted for this week.

Some folks decided to check out Siltstone, the outfit that bought the old Union Trust & Deposit Company building in Parkersburg. The conclusion was that they "kinda took over where Wishgard [the outfit that leased but didn't pay] left off. A spokesperson said they were looking for acreage on the cheap in Ritchie and southeastern Wirt Counties.

Nathan Belt who has been on the sick list continues to improve.

Noble Energy has sent out division orders for their horizontal Marcellus wells drilled on the Meadows property near Normantown. One of the units is 100.18 acres while another is just over 200 acres.

The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude oil is $98.96 with Appalachian light sweet (drip) fetching $78.47, Marcellus & Utica light $88.16 and medium $97.96/bbl.
