SIX LOWER NICUT RESIDENTS ESCAPE BURNING HOUSE - Taken To Roane General

MONDAY 10 PM - A Lower Nicut family of six escaped from their burning house Monday night when flames rapidly ventilated down a hallway into a room where they were watching TV.

All six were taken to Roane General Hospital, two by Minnie Hamilton EMS and four by private car, for treatment of minor injuries and burns.

The fire was reported at 7:52 p.m.

The dwelling was located a few miles up Lower Nicut Road, off main Nicut, was a total loss when the Upper West Fork and Arnoldsburg VFDs arrived.

Tom and Charlene Hall and their four children, Josh Settles, 16, Sarah Hayes, 15, Shelya Hall, 12, and Katlin Hall, 6, lost everything but the clothes on their back.

Tom and Charlene Hall received cuts jumping out a window, and Josh Settles received some minor burns, according to family members.
