Eupha Mae Nida Hoff, 88 - Looneyville

Eupha Mae Nida Hoff, 88, of Looneyville, West Virginia died March 15, 2014 at the Miletree Center in Spencer, West Virginia.

She was born June 27, 1925 in Kester, West Virginia a daughter of the late Shirley and Lora Jane Jett Nida.

She was a homemaker and was retired from Kellwood Company with 26 years of service. She attended church on Johnson Creek where she was saved at the age of 12 in a service with Rev. Herbert Drake. Eupha was married to Rev. Roy Harold Hoff on October 3, 1946. They attended the Left Hand Church for 30 years with Rev. Delmar Simmons. Eupha and Harold remained married for 45 years until his passing on January 19, 1991.

She has since been a faithful member of the Newton Baptist Church. She was in the foster grandparents program for 10 years and was considered a grandmother to all of the children she has worked with over the years. She was also a very active member of the Democratic party.

Eupha is survived by two daughters, Betty Jane and Woodrow Naylor, and Linda Wilson, both of Looneyville; one son, Robert Charles and Donna Hoff of Ravenswood, West Virginia; two sisters, Joyce Kiser of Florida and Pauline Higginbotham of St. Marys, West Virginia; two brothers, Ross and Clifford Nida, both of Florida; ten grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Chrystal Bernice Nida; and two brothers, Leslie and Harold Nida.

Service 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Revs. Earl Cayton and Ron Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
