FIRE STRIKES FAMILY DWELLING NEAR SPENCER SATURDAY

(03/17/2014)

Fire heavily damaged a mobile home on Steele Hollow near Spencer Saturday afternoon.

The Spencer-Roane, Clover and Reedy Fire Department responded to the blaze and quickly brought it under control.

Neighbors say the mobile home was likely damaged beyond repair.

The dwelling was occupied by Frankie and Rhonda Boswell and two school-age children.

Most of Roane county's volunteer firemen had been battling a forest fire on Cox's Fork, which reportedly burned a number of acres.
